Where Every Card Is Made to Be Felt — Not Just Seen

Nadia Arment — Founder & Maker, Greetings in Braille

Hi, I'm Nadia. From my studio in the quiet landscapes of South Dakota, I spend my days ensuring that no one is left out of life's most meaningful celebrations. At Greetings in Braille, we believe that a birthday wish, a note of sympathy, or a celebratory "congratulations" shouldn't just be seen — it should be felt.

Why I Started Greetings in Braille

I founded this business because I saw a gap in how we share our most personal moments. For many, traditional greeting cards are "flat" — beautiful to the eye, but inaccessible to the touch. When I began losing my vision, I noticed how hard it was to find cards designed for people who are blind or visually impaired. Instead of giving up my love for creativity, I turned that challenge into inspiration — combining art, accessibility, and texture to make cards you can truly feel.

What started as one handmade card on my dining table has grown into a joyful movement for inclusion and sensory connection — one raised dot, one ribbon, and one smile at a time.

The Handcrafted Process

Every card that leaves my studio is a labor of love and precision. I don't just "print" cards — I build them, using premium cardstock and richly tactile materials:

  • Raised textures — specialized techniques and 3D embellishments that invite exploration
  • Ribbons and yarn — for softness and dimension
  • Buttons and embellishments — for playful, tactile detail
  • Puffy paint — embossed patterns you can trace with your fingers
  • Watercolor art — soothing color and gentle visual beauty

Each Braille message is embossed with care, ensuring every word is perfectly spaced and easy to read. No two cards are ever alike — because every message of love deserves its own unique touch.

Certified Braille — Accuracy You Can Trust

Accuracy is my priority. I offer custom transcriptions in both Grade 1 (uncontracted) and Grade 2 (contracted) Unified English Braille (UEB), ensuring your message is crisp, readable, and professional. By pairing high-contrast large print with tactile dots, my cards are designed for blind, low-vision, and sighted readers to share the same moment together.

Our Promise

  • Handmade with heart — Designed and assembled entirely by hand in my South Dakota studio.
  • Inclusive by design — Braille, large print, and textures for all to enjoy.
  • Tactile and textural — Layers of touchable art, not just printed ink.
  • Made in the USA — Crafted locally, shared nationwide.
  • Created for connection — Because everyone deserves to feel remembered.

Meet the Maker

When I'm not at my transcription machine or perfecting a tactile rose, you can usually find me in my flower and vegetable gardens. As spring arrives in South Dakota, I'm often busy with seasonal cleanup, preparing the soil for a new year of growth. Whether I'm nurturing a seedling or hand-applying Braille to a card, I believe the best things in life are grown with patience, care, and a personal touch.

Send a Message That Can Be Felt

When you choose a Greetings in Braille card, you're joining a community that believes love should be felt, not just seen. Every purchase supports accessibility, creativity, and inclusion — bringing joy to both the sender and the receiver.

Thank you for helping us make that possible.
